Last night while I was at the gym there were these two people on the treadmills in front of me. They sounded like they'd been friends for years, not super close, but friends still. The girl is a convert to the church, and the guy has been a member his whole life. (You learn a lot while you're working out near loud talkers ;) .)
At first they were talking about dating and their YSA ward (a young single adult ward is a group or congregation between the ages of 18-30 that are single members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints). It was funny to hear the same things going on there that happen in the MidSingles.
Then the conversation turned to her conversion story, and how she gained her own personal testimony. I loved hearing it! Hearing her strength gave me a little boost of the strength. She talked about her dreams, plans, and expectations for her future. She reminded me of me, back before I knew of a lot of the hardships that are out there. I found myself wishing I was more like her back then, I still struggle sometimes opening up to people, but I'm way more open than I was when I was her age.
Anyways, it was so great to see this example of someone who knew who she is, and where she is going! Someday she's going to be an awesome young women's leader!

Sometimes I think the Lord allows "loud talkers" for our benefit. Great story! I love those little tender mercies.
